(1 February 2010) — We at Chanler Communications were shocked by the earthquake devastation suffered by Haiti and its people on January 12th. As an organization that is committed to communicating and doing “good,” we knew we had to get involved in any way we could. We have chosen to support two key international organizations working tirelessly on the ground in Haiti — Partners in Health and UNICEF (the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund). Both organizations have a long history of working in Haiti and were some of the first responders to the disaster.
In addition to making financial contributions to both organizations, we have also become personally involved. Chanler Communication President Jennifer Ferguson-Mitchell’s husband Nicholas is now on the ground in Port-au-Prince, Haiti as part of the UNICEF team. He is setting up and managing the organization’s emergency response base camp, and will be there for an initial three-month period. We are all very proud of him and humbled to be able to be a part of the urgent reponse.
